Professional Biography

Alex Grise joined the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition's Food As Health Alliance in 2024, to serve as a Program Coordinator for their Food As Health Initiative.  Alex was previously employed as a Certified Community Health Coordinator through UK HealthCare's Department of Ambulatory Population Health where he targeted Social Determinants of Health in vulnerable patient populations, provided community resources through outreach, practiced patient advocacy, and helped bridge the gap between socioeconomic disparities and equitable healthcare. 

Alex obtained his Bachelor's of Science degree at Eastern Kentucky University, where he studied Public Health, with a concentration in Community Health. Alex also obtained his Master's of Arts degree at the University of Kentucky, in the field of Applied Environmental and Sustainability Studies.  

Alex is an avid outdoorsman, with hobbies that include kayaking, fishing, hunting, hiking, and camping. Alex currently resides in Richmond, Kentucky with his wife and three children. Alex enjoys music, movies, and spending time with family and friends.
