Students have the opportunity to study abroad with our department-led trips to Greece, Costa Rica, Italy, and Portugal. Studying abroad offers the unique opportunity to gain a global perspective, enhance cross-cultural understanding, and develop valuable skills for personal and professional growth.

Explore the World With DHN

Our department offers students the chance to expand their education through faculty-led trips abroad to Greece, Costa Rica, Italy, and Portugal. Most DHN study tours last 2-3 weeks, allowing students to fully immerse themselves in different cultures while exploring food behaviors and health practices.

Costa Rica

Students will acquire unique insights regarding the Nicoyan lifestyle through various hands-on activities, tours, observation and dialogue with local residents, health care professionals and researchers who promote the peninsula's healthy/happy lifestyle. Students will enhance their multicultural competency through site visits of historical, cultural, and contemporary significance.
