Professional Biography

Heather L. Norman-Burgdolf, Ph.D. is an Associate Extension Professor in the Department of Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of Kentucky, specializing in nutrition education, public health, and community engagement. With a strong background in nutritional sciences, she has authored numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and Extension publications and developed evidence-based educational programs to promote nutrition accessibility and chronic disease prevention.

Dr. Norman-Burgdolf has led statewide initiatives focusing on health opportunities for all, Cooperative Extension programming, and food security, and has played a key role in bridging clinical and community-based health support systems. A dedicated mentor and collaborator, she works extensively with community health workers, public health stakeholders, and Cooperative Extension professionals to implement inclusive, consumer-friendly nutrition education.

Her research and outreach efforts are nationally recognized, earning her multiple professional awards and contributing to policy, system, and environmental change strategies that improve population health. She is deeply committed to empowering communities through accessible, science-driven nutrition education.
